Mechanism Overview

Thymosin Alpha-1 is derived from the N-terminal sequence of Prothymosin Alpha and is predominantly produced in thymic epithelial cells. In laboratory research models, Tα1 has been described as acting on Toll-like receptors (TLRs) — particularly TLR2 and TLR9 — on dendritic cells and macrophages, triggering downstream activation of NF-κB signalling pathways that regulate pro-inflammatory cytokine production.
